Overview
When a Pet Parent sends you a booking request, you have 24 hours to accept it before the request automatically expires. Accepting a request quickly not only secures the booking but can also improve your search ranking, making your profile more visible to future Pet Parents.
Below are answers to the most common questions about the 24-hour acceptance window, meet and greets, cancellations, and response times.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does accepting a booking commit me to providing the service?
No. Accepting a booking reserves the request while you complete your meet and greet or any other checks you perform before deciding whether the booking is a good fit.
Will cancelling after a failed meet and greet hurt my standing?
No. As long as you provide the reason for the cancellation, legitimate cancellations, such as a meet and greet that doesn't go well, are not held against you.
Does the 2-hour response boost apply to every booking request?
Yes. Every request you accept within 2 hours contributes to your response time, which helps improve your visibility in search results.
If I cancel after accepting, do I lose the ranking boost?
No. Legitimate cancellations do not remove the benefit of responding quickly. Responding promptly and responsibly managing bookings are evaluated separately.
What if I need more than 24 hours to decide?
Accept the booking request first to reserve it. Then schedule your meet and greet or gather any additional information you need before deciding whether to move forward with the booking.
What if the Pet Parent doesn't respond after I accept the booking?
Contact support@yourgipro.com, and our team will reach out to the Pet Parent to assist.
Does the 24-hour window include nights and weekends?
Yes. The 24-hour window begins as soon as the booking request is sent, regardless of the day or time.
What if I'm on vacation or unavailable?
Update your availability calendar before you're unavailable so you don't receive booking requests you can't accept.
Can I recover a booking after it expires?
Once a booking request expires, the Pet Parent is automatically matched with another Pro. If the Pet Parent has not yet booked with someone else, contact support@yourgipro.com, and our team can check whether the booking is still available.
Why should I accept a booking before scheduling a meet and greet?
Accepting the booking reserves your opportunity to work with the Pet Parent while you complete the meet and greet. Waiting until after the meet and greet to accept the request may cause the booking to expire if the 24-hour window passes.
What happens if I don't respond within 24 hours?
The booking request will automatically expire, the Pet Parent will be notified, and we'll begin matching them with another Pro. Repeatedly allowing requests to expire may reduce how often your profile appears in search results.
